PRIORITIZING INFRASTRUCTURE & WEST SIDE FIRE STATION

Sam will be a Mayor that delivers essential government services as smoothly and efficiently as possible. The bedrock of her administration will be a government that works and keeps the promises the City has made to its citizens. Importantly, the Mayor sets the budget priorities for the community which is a representation of what we as a City value.

FOSTERING CIVIC ENGAGEMENT & OPEN GOVERNMENT

Sam knows that Marlborough is strongest when everyone can participate. Utilizing her professional background in civic engagement and education, Sam will ensure open government and transparency are at the heart of serving as our next Mayor.

EMPOWERING OUR YOUTH & SCHOOLS

Sam is a proud graduate of the Marlborough Public Schools and the only candidate for Mayor with an education background, having trained and worked with teachers, districts, and students on project-based civic education curriculum, and helped pass the state bill on civics. As Mayor, she will serve as the Chair of the School Committee, and is excited to partner with our School Committee Members, Superintendent, our excellent school staff, and even the State of Massachusetts to ensure that our public schools can provide ALL of our students with the high-quality education they deserve.

INVESTING IN SMALL BUSINESSES & REVITALIZING DOWNTOWN

A robust and active downtown is the beating heart of our city. Sam will make downtown more walkable and support the influx of small businesses to anchor the entire length of downtown. Sam is the lead advocate for public art in our city and will develop a citywide public art and downtown plan to make the location pedestrian-friendly, highlight our local history and Museum in the Streets as well as becoming a destination for visitors and locals alike.

INCREASING ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY & OPEN SPACE

The future for our city and our world depends on a liveable planet. Just as our budget represents our values, so too must our city lead on environmental sustainability. Sound stewardship of our natural resources must be integrated into all our work, including how we operate internally to reduce our carbon footprint. Our parks are also a priority and we are fortunate to have a lot of recreational facilities in our community.

PRIORITIZING LONG-TERM PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT

Housing and the high rate of development in our city is a topic Sam hears most from residents. As Mayor, Sam will work to ensure that residents who grew up here, work here and choose to live here can afford to do so.

STRENGTHENING OUR COMMUNITY

Providing a myriad of resources to support and strengthen our community is key to ensuring all residents thrive in our city. From supporting the Marlborough Public Library, offering mental health resources, combating food insecurity, and offering public wifi, Sam will be a Mayor who puts residents first.
